I’m back in the kitchen today with Spindrift preparing a no fuss, no heat summer dinner. One of the reasons Spindrift is a great partner for me in the kitchen is that it’s a real food item: simply sparkling water with real squeezed fruit from family farms. It has color, pulp and a even a few calories, because it is real food. So refreshing. Have you tried Spindrift? And if you haven’t, get to it!
Creating a no fuss, no heat dinner is easy, but it’s all about what’s local and in season.
I like to start at the farmers market and get whatever is available right now. Fresh fruit, fresh herbs, tomatoes, my Marinated Onions, all on a beautiful bed of greens and served with Pistachio Pesto and Cashew Crema—both plant-based with a lot of protein and truly delicious. For my friends on Keto, toss in some cheese and you might want to pick up some cold seafood to add, and of course Spindrift in every flavor is so delicious.
- 1 cup raw pistachios
- ½ – 1 cup olive oil (depending on your desired consistency)
- 3 cloves garlic, put through the press
- 1 cup fresh basil
- 1 cup fresh flat leaf parsley
- 3 Tbsp lemon juice
- salt and pepper
In the food processor and being sure to take your time, pulse a cup of raw pistachios until coarsely chopped. Add the pressed garlic, basil and parsley. When all of that is mixed well, slowly add a half cup of olive oil until combined well. Add the lemon juice, salt and pepper and combine until well mixed. Depending on your desired consistency, add more olive oil 2 Tbsp at a time (I usually end up adding 4 Tbsp). Nirvana.
- 1 cup raw cashews
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Soak the cashews in water (enough water that the cashews are covered by an inch) for at least 2 hours, but can be as long as overnight. Rinse well. Blend the cashews with 1/4 cup of water and the sea salt. Add more water as needed to make the cashew cream the consistency you like. I usually do 3/4 cup of water.
Spindrift Faux Sangria
Spindrift ice cubes
½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ cup muddled strawberries
1/3 cup muddled blackberries
1 can grapefruit Spindrift
1 can strawberry Spindrift
Optional – 1 bottle Rosé, or about 4 tablespoons per drink
Using an ice cube tray, pour Spindrift in each section until ¾ of the way full. Freeze.
Place the muddled strawberries and blackberries at the bottom of a large pitcher. Then gently add the Spindrift ice cubes to the pitcher. Pour the orange juice, lemon juice and both the grapefruit and strawberry cans of Spindrift in the pitcher over the cubes and mudded fruit. Stir to combine.
Place a few spindrift ice cubes in a beautiful glass and pour the Sangria over. Serve.
Note: If you are making a cocktail rather than a mocktail, pour some Rosé in the pitcher after the Spindrift and stir. Or, if you are making both, just pour about 4 tablespoons of Rosé in the glass before adding in the Mocktail Sangria.

Since there are so many parties and events during the holiday season, it is really easy to overindulge. So I am always looking for opportunities to keep my eating clean in between those moments. Breakfast is one of them. I love to make breakfast for me and Zach with eggs, greens and my Marinated Red Onions and then we split an Orange Mango Spindrift.
Making a healthy breakfast is so quick and easy. Start with greens, like arugula or spinach. Add a green vegetable like broccolini (quickly saute in olive oil over medium heat, add a pinch of salt and pepper, some garlic at the end – a total of 3 minutes). Softly scramble some eggs (add 1/2 a shell of water for each egg, blend together to remove all of the striations. Cook slowly on medium low heat in a non stick pan and move the eggs constantly so they come out creamy and delicious). Finish your plate off with extras like Marinated Red Onions MAGIC ELIXIRSâ„¢ and avocado.
When I start my day clean and green like this, I am much less likely to overindulge later.

Holiday Bar and Spindrift Sparkling Water
Spindrift is perfect for the holidays. I love the this time of year and being surrounded by family. All of the little details matter to me and here’s a great holiday tip to help you with those details – get everybody involved! Make someone the beverage manager – he or she will be in charge of finding out what everyone wants to drink so you don’t buy much more than you need. They can get the ice, iron the tablecloth and get your bar set up perfectly for your guests. This year, my bar manager is going to be @nocrumbslefts_kid and she will be stocking the bar with lots of everyone’s favorite flavors of Spindrift. What I love about Spindrift is that it’s just sparkling water and real squeezed fruit from family farms, that’s it! It’s perfect on it’s own, in a cocktail or mocktail. It’s not too sugary or bubbly so it’s not filling and it pairs beautifully with food! I love to have a special and festive beverage for the holidays and Spindrift is it!
