Why I Love This Secret Ingredient So Much

California prunes are packed with antioxidants, which are great for bone health, gut health, and your immune system! Most of all, they have an incredible flavor that elevates any dish you add them to. We’ve used prunes in about a dozen recipes, and each one has a great depth of flavor and deliciousness thanks to the prunes.

Chipotle Prune Jam

Magic Elixirs have earned their name for a reason! If you have never made one, this is a fantastic recipe to start with.

Creamy Clementine Dressing

I love our Creamy Clementine Dressing on so many salads. Here, we used it with our Citrus Chopped Salad. It’s a little sweet, super creamy, and totally versatile. This is a dressing to make for meal prep and use throughout the week, if it lasts that long!

Prune Puree

Prune purée is a multi-talented baking substitute. Use it to replace sugar, eggs, or fat and prepare for rave reviews.

Swap for sugar: Use prune purée to replace anywhere from one-third to half of the sugar in a recipe.

Swap out eggs: To replace 1 large egg, use ¼ cup prune purée. Keep in mind that this works best in recipes that call for no more than 3 large eggs.

Lose the fat: To cut down on fat, replace up to half of the butter or oil with an equal amount of prune purée.
