Hi! It’s Molly from the nocrumbsleft team taking over to tell you about one of my favorite easy go-to cocktails. We are calling it Molly’s Midweek Margarita! I’m so excited to be making it with the brand new Spindrift Limeade from their new Lemonades. They also have a Pink Lemonade and a Strawberry Lemonade, and we also have cocktails for those as well: a Teri Collins and a Strawberry Mojito. And if you’re looking for something with vodka, the Spindrift Teri-tini would be a great way to go.

I’m the Director of Digital Media at nocrumbsleft, but in my free time, I love making a cocktail. It’s so fun to build a delicious drink, and sometimes, that’s even more fun than drinking it! When I first started making cocktails, I really wanted to replace the pre-made mixes, like Margaritas, Daquiris, Pina Coladas, and so on.

margarita prep

Since I’m a tequila gal, I started with a fizzy Margarita! Once you get the ingredients, it couldn’t be simpler to make. It’s so much more delicious than the mix, not to mention it has a lot fewer ingredients than those bottles! And what I love about adding Spindrift to this drink is that it’s all real fruit without additives or “natural flavors.”

All you need is a good tequila, triple sec, some limes, and the Spindrift Limeade. When choosing a tequila, you want a Silver (blanco) tequila that is 100% agave. Trust me, it takes a margarita from good to great. My favorites are Casamigos (hi, George Clooney tequila!) or Espolon, which we used here.

For the next step, you’ll want Triple Sec. There are plenty of affordable Triple Sec options, but if you can splurge here, my favorite is Cointreau. Triple sec is an orange liqueur, and it really brings together the drink. Some “skinny” margaritas will omit triple sec and/or replace it with orange juice, but for me, if I’m making a cocktail, I’m treating myself to the best thing! And while most people think of lime as the star, without the orange flavor, the margarita would not be nearly as delicious!

Then, for the lime juice, fresh squeezed is always best. You just can’t compete with it! Of course, you can use bottled lime juice if that’s what you have. After all, this is a Midweek Margarita!

This drink is simple, light, and refreshing. It has a lovely citrus flavor that makes it so easy to sip on! If you try it, be sure to rate and review it below. And if you want to follow along, head to Instagram and Pinterest for more inspiration!

Description

This margarita is my go-to for a refreshing cocktail. It’s the perfect hump day treat!

Ingredients

1 1/2 ounces silver tequila (I used Espolon)
3/4 ounce triple sec (I used Cointreau)
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
4 ounces Spindrift Limeade
1 lime wedge, for garnish
Salt for the rim, optional

Instructions

If you would like salt, rub the lime wedge around the outside of your drinking glass lightly. Dip the glass into the salt to coat the rim. Set aside.

In a cocktail shaker*, combine ice, tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Shake the drink vigorously until the outside of the shaker is cold, approximately 15 seconds.

Once shaken, strain the drink into your drinking glass. Then, top the drink off with Spindrift Limeade and garnish with the lime wedge. Enjoy!

Notes

*You can also do this in a Mason Jar, or you can simply stir the drink instead.
*If you like a foamier cocktail, you can add an ounce of egg white to the shaker.
