I’m so excited about this recipe. When planning Whole30, it’s really fun to create new recipes, and this Whole30 Hoisin Sauce is a recent favorite. Such a spectacular new Magic Elixir that you will want to eat it on everything. This dinner is so easy to prepare Sauté the pork until crispy, set aside. (Or substitute chicken thighs or breast, if you prefer). Then prepare the broccolini and green onions in the same pan, return pork to pan, toss with the sauce, and it’s ready to serve. The Hoisin Sauce creates the magic.

Description

This Whole30 Hoisin Sauce is a game-changer. Make this dish and then thank me later!

Ingredients

For the stir fry:

  •   1-pound pork loin, thinly sliced (as thin as you can possibly slice it)
  •   1 tsp salt
  •   ½ tsp black pepper
  •   3 Tbsp olive oil, divided (or more, if needed for cooking)
  •   12 oz broccolini, florets, cut and stems chopped into bite-sized pieces. (Be sure to cut off the woody ends.)
  •   4 green onions, cut into ½” long pieces
  •   Whole30 Hoisin Sauce (recipe below)

For the Hoisin Sauce:

  •   4 Tbsp coconut aminos
  •   2 Tbsp Compliant almond butter
  •   1 Tbsp orange juice
  •   2 tsp rice vinegar
  •   1 garlic clove, finely minced (or pressed)
  •   1 tsp hot sauce

Instructions

For the stir fry:

CUT the pork loin into thin strips, place in bowl with salt, pepper, and 1 Tbsp olive oil, and toss to coat evenly.  Marinate for 5-10 minutes.

HEAT 2 Tbsp olive oil over high heat in a frying pan. When oil is hot, place pork loin slices in a single layer in the pan. Cook 3 minutes on one side and 1 minute on the second. Remove from pan and set aside.  Cook in two batches if necessary.

PLACE broccolini and 1 Tbsp of oil in the same pan with a pinch of salt and cook for 2 minutes.  Add the green onions and cook for another 2 minutes.

RETURN the pork to the pan and cook the entire mixture for one more minute.  Turn off heat.

For the Hoisin Sauce:

PLACE all ingredients into a mini prep food processor (or bowl).

BLEND until all ingredients are well blended.

ADD 4 Tbsp of sauce and stir until well coated. Serve.

Notes

Teri Tip:  If you are Kosher, this recipe is delicious with chicken thighs or breast.  You can also substitute clarified butter or Nature’s Best for the butter.
