You may already know I’m not the biggest recipe follower, and that means I have huge successes and horrible failures. I started making this San Marzano tomato sauce with a case of tomatoes and a hope that it was going to be divine, and in the end it was flavorless. From that failure, I had to rally! I always have a pint of oven dried tomatoes around because they add so much to dishes. The next addition was a pint of my red pepper paste and plenty of smoky paprika. I ground it all up in my Vitamix. These three additions gave it such depth! This dish is perhaps the most scrumptious experiment I’ve ever had–it’s a spectacular smoky paprika tomato sauce.
